How does Adamo integrate with GDS and booking platforms like Amadeus?

Our primary GDS integration is with Amadeus – one of the largest global distribution systems for flights, hotels, transfers, and rail. We work with Amadeus Self-Service APIs and Enterprise APIs (SOAP/REST). For air ticketing, we also integrate with AERTiCKET.

 

A typical Amadeus integration project includes:

  • Authentication and session management (Amadeus has complex session lifecycles).
  • Caching strategies (GDS calls are expensive in both cost and latency).
  • Error handling for many edge cases (unavailable inventory, partial responses, expired sessions).
  • Fallback logic when one provider is unavailable.

 

We’re upfront that GDS contracts and certifications are commercial agreements between you and the GDS provider – we handle the technical integration once you have access. Time-to-integrate typically ranges from 4 to 10 weeks depending on scope and certification requirements.

 

For Sabre, Travelport, or other GDS integrations not in our current portfolio, we can scope the additional work — they follow similar architectural patterns, with vendor-specific authentication and certification time added to the timeline.

Travel payments have specific complications: multi-currency pricing, dynamic FX rates, refund and chargeback complexity, and 3D Secure requirements that vary by region.

 

Payment gateway integration: Our integrated payment stack covers Stripe (cards, multi-currency, recurring), PayPal (B2C familiarity, buyer protection), Alipay and WeChat Pay (China market, mobile-first), and Apple Pay (high mobile conversion). Each has different SDKs, supported currencies, and fraud tools.

 

Multi-currency handling: Display prices in the user’s local currency with daily-updated FX rates; process payments in the supplier’s settlement currency to avoid double conversion; handle refunds in the original transaction currency; reconciliation reports across currencies.
